Drum roll Please!
After some intense rounds of judging and hot debate, the Challenge team and our executive judges have made the call. We have 4 Finalists we would like to congratulate and another 5 teams that YOU can help earn the 5th finalist spot.
Before I run through the Finalist and Peer Voting teams we owe a huge thanks to YOU! The proposals were great this year and it shows the hard work that all the student teams put into the Challenge. We also owe our thanks to Professors and Program Administrators at universities and colleges across Canada. Their support is invaluable in getting the word out about our Innovation Challenge.
So without further adieu, this year’s Finalist teams are:
Team: Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat
School: Rotman
Toronto, Ont.
Team: Future State of Banking Innovation
School: University of Waterloo
Waterloo, Ont.
Team: Tycoons of Tomorrow
School: University of Waterloo
Waterloo, Ont.
Team: Rotman 12 AM
School: Rotman
Toronto, Ont.
For Peer Voting is OPEN!
Way back in the fall when the teams were crafting their proposals we asked them to write an extra summary section: the peer voting synopsis. We asked them to be brief, but this synopsis was to allow them to tell you about their idea or innovation in their own words if they were selected to be in the running for that 5th spot. This synopsis is important in a number of ways; it lets everyone participate with us (the students, teams, fans and followers of the competition), it sends us a clear message about what is important to people outside of RBC and finally it is a real mark of distinction for the team who earns the votes and takes the 5th finalist spot. For that team they know that not only was their proposal a top 15 contender it was the most resonant with the audience. Regardless of how they place in the finals that is something to be proud of. We would like to keep the voting free of school bias as possible so we are not revealing which team submitted which concept. If you know the team/idea match we would ask that you don’t reveal it until voting closes.
Anyone can vote once per day here.
Again congratulations to the 4 Finalists and good luck to the Peer Voting candidates!
