The Announcement!!!

OK everyone, after all the preliminary steps, your hard work on your submissions and several rounds of judging (including the final selection of submissions by the Innovation Council; for more details on the Council click here) the time has come to announce the finalists and peer voting candidate teams!

But first…

I wanted to express my thanks to all the students who entered this year’s Next Great Innovator Challenge. There were many innovative ideas, well composed proposals and compelling perspectives. They all showed hard work, commitment and insight. The competition was tough and choosing the top proposals was difficult. Even if your proposal was not chosen give yourself and your team mates a pat on the back for a job well done. And if this isn’t your graduating year please consider entering again in the fall!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE…..

The four finalist teams, who have earned a spot in the final competition day here in Toronto are:

The eBiz Innovators
University of Toronto, Joseph L. Rotman School of Management
Rotman Breakthrough Concepts

And the Peer Voting Candidates, from which YOU chose the fifth finalist team, are:

BMFM

FinFuture
McGill University, Desautels Faculty of Management
Hype Cyclists
University of Toronto, Joseph L. Rotman School of Management

Stay tuned to our blog for updates as the finals approach and for more entries on Innovation at RBC.

Eric Warnke :

It would be nice if we could have more details on the finalists and what their ideas are...

Tim :

Hi Eric,

We will share some information on the finalist ideas once they have had a chance to present and compete for that top prize. We don't want teams to know too much about each other's ideas and spend time positioning their presentation content against other proposals; we'd rather they spent their energy making their idea really shine.

You can get some information on some of the teams by looking at the team profiles, and see the synopses of the peer voting candidates ideas on the peer voting page.
